After you have invested in a swimsuit that will last for seasons, make sure you take care of it! There are a few simple things that will ensure that the colours last, and you suit stays looking fabulous.
It is recommended to hand wash after every wear. We recommend Splash by Forever New. It is a mild wash that neutralizes the chlorine and salt. It also removes sunscreen and body oils while preserving colours and elasticity. Place the suit in a sink full of cold water and a teaspoon of Splash. Let soak for 15 minutes. Rinse until the water runs clear. Do not wring out but lay flat to dry. In a shady place- not in full sunlight.
If you cannot wash the suit, then rinse it out with cool water to rid the garment of excess salt and chlorine so it is not left to break down the fabric.
Swimwear No No’s:
- Never wash in hot water.
- Never use harsh chemicals like fabric softener or stain removers.
- Never wring or twist the fabric.
- Never dry in bright sunlight.
- Don’t store wet (unrinsed) suits in plastic bags for long periods of time.
